Pick up is not a logical science like nerds "PUG's" try to portray
also you are better off going out with a guy or two who are really good with women then reading/watching seminars dvd's etc...
Imgaine going out with a guy who lays 10 women a month effortlessly and he spends 1/4 of the time a guru does(I know a guy like this, he only goes out twice a week on average). Supposedly the top guru's say this how many girls they fuck. Is it possible? sure if you in a different city/country every month it's not that hard at all to bang 10 different women a month.
Something PUG's don't tell ya, its easier to get laid abroad then here. Why do you think RSD guys were getting laid left and right in Alex Asia bootcamps? all you gotta do is say you from U.S.A, and these chicks will come flocking hoping for a green card.
Now imagine pulling 10 chicks in a medium/small state (I.E. Indiana) that's a lot harder. Even an "average" gamer can do well going to L.A. or New York, once he calibrates his game, it's easier in a bigger town cause New York has 10X as many women as Indiana.
Don't be fooled by these PUG's, their going to Russia, Africa, and China, it's not that hard to get laid over there at all.

Honestly in all my travels the girls in small towns are 10x easier than the broads in these big cities.
There's thousands of quality, cool dudes in the big cities for girls to choose from. You go to a small town and it's easy to be the coolest motherfucker she's ever come across. Like you're a movie star.

Agree with the post above me ^... I spent my young life, living in a city with 8m+ people in, suddenly I moved to a lot smaller city, in a more rural area, and my confidence was just ridiculous, I'd been around great looking guys, guys as rich as fuck, the best of the best live in the city, and here I am, in this smaller town, it's easier to be alpha, as I was prepared with big city life, I was used to making myself seen, I also had more value, coming from a big city. Just had to make a few minor changes, and tone things down a bit, I find outside big cities, MM and stuff just make you look a cock. 60YOC works better in environments like that

The PUA community is desirable to a lot of guys because it has the "come as you are" attitude.
Let's take a step back.
Imagine a world without the community and struggling guys adopted your mentality. If they suck, they need to find a guy (like the one you described) in order to get good.
So, they go searching around, find one, ask him to break down his process into bite-size, teachable chunks...and possibly go out with them to show them how it's done.
The natural can probably handle one or two guys, but imagine 10. Imagine 30 guys want to learn from him. He can't do this all day for free. makeoutmakeoutmakeoutmakeoutmakeout's gotta eat.
So, he charges them what he feels he's worth...and also what the guy thinks is reasonable. Dare I say in-field workshop?
Imagine 200 guys wanted to learn. How could he possibly take them all out? Dare I say an audio or DVD?
Oh, wait a second...did I just describe how the community began? Woops.
